Truck Chassis Modification
At ESoliDesign, we recently completed a large-scale, milestone-based truck modification project that showcased our deep expertise in mechanical design and engineering documentation. The client approached us with a vision—backed by over 400 pages of unstructured reference material—and tasked us with turning that vision into detailed technical deliverables.
The 3D CAD model would be found in figure (1).
Project Scope & Deliverables
Our role involved the complete 3D modelling of custom steel and aluminium components, along with the development of comprehensive 2D/3D fabrication drawings. We provided:
- High-quality 3D models of all parts and assemblies
- Accurate 2D technical drawings suitable for fabrication
- Exported files in PDF, DWG, STEP, and DXF formats
- Fully detailed Bills of Materials (BOM) for all assemblies
- Welding annotations and weight specifications for all parts
- Ongoing support for drawing revisions and design updates
The project was delivered in three milestones:
- Milestone 1: Submitted 90 PDF drawings—44 2D part drawings (2 aluminium, 42 steel) and 46 3D assembly drawings (19 aluminium, 27 steel)
- Milestone 2: Integrated revisions and added detailed welding information to all assemblies
- Milestone 3: Delivered all files in required formats, including DXF files for 2D parts and final PDFs with BOMs and weights
